1. Who will be eligible for discounts under this scheme?
- Anyone whose main residence is in Colonsay, Orkney, Shetland, the Western Isles, Islay, Jura, Caithness and North West Sutherland.
2. Who will be not be eligible for discounted flights?
- People whose residence is not in the eligible geographic area
- People travelling on Public Service Obligation (PSO) flights
- People travelling for the purpose of business
- People travelling on NHS-funded trips
- Anyone in the eligible geographic area who does not have a live, valid card
3. Will there be any restrictions on the number of eligible trips?
- There will be no restriction on the number of trips per eligible person.
4. Will the discount be available for both single and return journeys?
- Yes it will apply to both single and return journeys.
5. Will it apply to onward connections?
- No. Only journeys to and from Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh are included.
6. How will eligible persons apply for discounted air fares?
- Eligible persons can register for the scheme by printing off a form from our website, or picking up an application form from various outlets including airports and other offices. Forms must be sent by post with appropriate proof of residence.
7. Do all the eligible adults in my household need to complete individual applications?
- No. Eligible persons of the same household can register for this scheme on one application form. Each person must supply relevant proof of residence. They will each receive an individual Air Discount Scheme card.
8. I have lost my PIN, how do I go about getting another one?
- We can give you your pin details over the phone, however before we proceed you will need to answer a few security questions.
9. The system is not recognising my card details, do you know why?
- We would need to check your card status on our system, but most commonly it is because the card details have been entered incorrectly. ADS3 should be in capital letters followed by 12 digits with no spaces and correct Pin number.

10. My child is now 16 do they now need their own card?
- Everyone who is 16 and over and lives in an eligible area, needs to have their own card. If they have not received an application pack from us before their 16th birthday please contact us to request one.
11. How can I book an ADS related flight with Flybe, Eastern or British Airways?

12. Can I apply for Scheme Membership on-line?
- No, we require signed hard copy application forms sent to us.
13. Do I need to send photographic I.D in for proof of residency?
- No. We only require two forms of proof of residence. Please see list of eligible documents.
- Send two documents from the following list which show the applicant's name and current address:
- current council tax bill or tenancy agreement
- driving license
- council or housing association rent book
- benefits or pension book
- recent (within last 6 months) bank, building society or credit card statement - header only, please remove account numbers and details of transactions
- recent (within last 6 months) telephone bill - header only
- One proof required for 16 year old applicants: bank statement header or letter from SQA.
14. I have a holiday home in the eligible areas, do I qualify for a card?
- Unfortunately, you do not. To qualify for a card you need to have your main residence in the eligible areas.
15. I/my daughter/son is going to university, do I/they still qualify for the discount?
- Yes you/they do if the main residence remains in the eligible areas.
16. My card has expired, how do I go about getting a replacement?
- Provided that your details are still live on our database we can send you a replacement card. If not you will need to re-apply.
17. My children live outwith the eligible areas with their mother/father, do they still qualify for the ADS discount to visit me?
- No, eligibility is determined by their permanent address.
18. How do I go about changing my name/address details or adding dependants?
- You need to fill out the card amendment form in the application tab, if you have moved we require 1 proof of residence for your new address.
19. How do I book for a card holder and a non card holder at the same time?
- By approved Travel Agent.

- If you are a carer or a legal guardian for a prospective member then please call us on 0800 032 2890 to discuss their application.
21. Large print/Braille
